Janet Ayers, President of Ayers Foundation, to Speak at FHU Leadership Series

The Freed-Hardeman University College of Business and the Ayers Center for Student Leadership will host Janet Ayers, president of the Ayers Foundation, Tuesday, April 28, in Ayers Auditorium in Brown-Kopel Business Center.  Her topic will be “Citizen Leadership.”

 

The Ayers Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life for the people of Tennessee, according to its web site.  It supports a wide range of programs and institutions, with a particular emphasis on education in Decatur, Henderson, Perry and Unicoi counties.

 

Ayers became the president of the Ayers Foundation in 2007.  She is a business leader and philanthropist with more than 20 years of experience in health care and administration.

 

The foundation provides grants for scholarships, counselors and programs for educational enhancement, as well as programs for health care and preservation of natural resources and wildlife habitat.

 

The foundation funds a student leadership program at FHU.  It seeks to enhance leadership knowledge, skills, and engagement by providing students with resources, services, and opportunities.  Currently, 18 FHU students are participating in the program.
