The Scott Gibson airport offers a 4,000 foot lighted and paved runway with a 10 inch Beacon.  Aircraft up to 10,500 pounds are acceptable to runway standards.  The available fuel is 100 LL & JA.  Hangar space is available for overnight parking.  Pilots have the option of using the airport service car for personal needs around town.  Rental cars are available also.  There is a mechanic available for minor repairs.  Future plans include the new Beech River Regional Airport which is now under construction.
 
The Beech River Regional Airport is new regional general aviation with a 6000 feet long and 100 feet wide with a full length parallel taxiway.  The first of three contracts to construct the airport is currently underway.  It is possible that the first plane could land at the facility prior to the end of 2004.
 
Port of Perryville

Tinker Port is located at mile 135.5 on the Tennessee River near Parsons.  Tinker-Watkins is experienced in marine transportation and stevedoring operations.  The port is conveniently located on State Highway 100, 1 mile from State Highway 412 bridge spanning the Tennessee River; 5 miles from Highway 641 and 15 minutes from Interstate 40-Exit 126
 
Decatur County is accessible by the Tennessee River/Kentucky Lake, which runs the entire length of the county south to north with close to fifty miles of shoreline.  Barges with a 9 foot draft can travel the rivers 650 miles.  Forty-three million tons of cargo are carried by barge on the river annually.  The commercial port facilities at Perryville currently loads timber, coke, fertilizer and asphalt.  The channel depth ranges from 35 to 55 feet with a depth of 12 to 14 feet at the dock sites.
 
Highways

Decatur County has an excellent network of hard-surfaced roads that compliment the state and federal highway serving Decatur County. Parsons is located at the junction of Highway 69 and 412, and is served by Interstate 40, 14 miles north. Our close proximity to Interstate 40 provides our industries with exceptional accessibility to over-the-road transportation.
